Classroom needs

Our class is in need of a couple of things:

  • 7 packs of white index cards (200 count)
  • Stop watches (at least 8)
  • Volunteers to help in the classroom from 8:40 to 9:10AM :)
  • Volunteer to help create a set of flashcards for every student
  • Printer paper

Be a regular face seen at Kernan AND in Ms. Borrero's room!

All I'm asking for is 30 minutes of your time!

Not only will you be helping our school but our class directly.

As you may or may not know, your second graders are getting instruction from not only Ms. Borrero but from the rest of the Second Grade teachers. We are dedicated to make sure that each and every student gets what they need to be successful!

So, look at your schedules and let me know if you are available to come in on either Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday mornings from 8:40 to 9:10AM (if available all days, that would be AMAZING!!!)

Email me or write a note in you child's planner to let me know if you are interested.

Thank you so much for your continued efforts in your child's academic success!

Hikers Homework

Remember, the Hikers Homework is the same every week. The vocabulary words change and the math worksheets are given at school.

If by any chance you haven't received your RAH log back, don't fret, simply write it on a sheet of paper and I will surely count the books read on the class chart.

Supplies Needed for Math

Hello parents and guardians!

In the next week or so, our class is going to be learning about capacity and volume in the measurement unit. There are a couple of household items that would really help bring this concept alive for each student.

In order to do that I need some help! There are 3 groups in the class and it helps when there are at least 2 of each object for each to explore. Here are a list of items that are needed for the lessons:

  • empty milk cartons (any size, and rinsed out)
  • empty pint ice cream container
  • empty cans
  • empty water bottles
  • liter container
  • eye dropper
  • empty tissue boxes
  • small empty boxes
  • Quart sized containers

As soon as you get any of these items bring them in! Thank you so much for your help!
